Carbon Governance in Southeast Asia (CGSEA)

CGSEA is an online platform for the exchange of interdisciplinary knowledge, ideas and developments relating to the research project on Climate Governance of Nature-based Carbon Sinks in Southeast Asia. The research project is funded by the Social Science Research Thematic Grant (SSRTG) from the Ministry of Education, Singapore.

The research project is hosted at the Asia Research Institute and builds upon the research on Sustainable Governance of the Transboundary Environmental Commons in Southeast Asia which was completed in June 2022.

The core objectives of the research are to:

Co-designed with regional experts through a scoping workshop in May 2021, there will be four themes that focus on the governance of:

The themes will link knowledge to action through research activities that will actively include Singapore-based and regional stakeholders, thereby enhancing the dissemination of findings and encouraging the uptake of interventions.
